Plain-language terms for the HeartBond app. This draft has not been reviewed by a lawyer.

HeartBond graphs heart rate for your own interest and record keeping. The terms below set out what it is, and what it is not.

Not a medical device

HeartBond is built for heart rate graphing and personal health tracking. It is not a medical device. Do not use it to diagnose, treat, or manage a medical condition. Talk to a healthcare professional for medical care.

Where the numbers come from

The heart data shown comes from the devices you have connected to Health, and reflects the technology and methods those devices use. HeartBond does not verify it.

For how a given reading was taken, consult the documentation of the device that recorded it.

How the graph is drawn

Heart rate defaults to High–low. Samples are grouped into five-minute intervals, and each interval plots its highest and lowest sample in bpm. That keeps the graph readable when it is showing many days at once, and it means an ordinary day is a summary rather than every individual sample.

Keep all samples on a day retains every reading of that day. Heart rate variability is stored at full sample density.
